Jodi is the Program Coordinator at GO ART! Jodi has a MS from the University at Buffalo with a Professional Business Management Certificate. Jodi had the opportunity to live in France for a year when she was in her early teens. Some of the places famous places she had the chance to visit during her stay in Europe were Paris (Tour Eiffel, Arc de Triomphe, Le Louvre, Notre-Dame, Versille and more), Amsterdam (Keukenhof Tulip Gardens, Damn Square, De Negen Straatjes, De Wallen, Anne Frank's House, Canals of Amsterdam, Delft Blue and more), The Black Forest in Germany and much more! While she was there she enjoyed traveling around Europe and emerging herself in the history, arts and culture. Jodi enjoys visiting museums, art galleries, art shows, writing poetry, taking photos, singing, being outdoors and spending time with her family. In high school Jodi played two characters in the Wizard of Oz as well as in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat.
Jodi loves learning and has taught herself how to dye fabric using plants, how to paint dot mandalas, how to sew and much more!
Although she does not have formal training in photography her mother dabbled with photography when she was younger and learned some from watching her. Jodi has always enjoyed taking photos of the beauty around her. Some of the things she enjoys photographing most are things in nature, animals and her time on the farm she works at part time. One thing she would like to learn more about is macro photography. She is fascinated by small plants and animals and the intricate details you can see when you enlarge a close up.
At this moment all of the photos she takes are with her cell phone camera and she is very happy with the quality of photos it provides her.
Along with photography Jodi also enjoys writing poetry and prose. She has taken creative writing classes and workshops in the past and feels with each one her abilities have grown. She has written many short stories and hundreds of poems. She has never published any of her work but hopes to one day. As of late many of the poems she has created have come from photographs or other forms of visual art work so she decided that why not create some to go along with the photos for this show!
