2005 "Picnic in the Park" Schedule:

Main Stage Entertainment

Noon -Batavia Concert Band
A Picnic fave - Sousa-style marches & big band numbers

1:15pm - Bon Chance Cajun Band
Trio performs heartfelt Cajun dance music

2:30pm - Borinquen Dance Theatre & Tumbao*
Traditional music from the islands of Puerto Rico, Cuba & the Caribbean accompanies these young dancers

3:45pm - Jon Seiger and the All-Stars
"Swing hard" with these seasoned jazz musicians, playing authentic renditions of Armstrong, plus personal anecdotes

Stage II

Hourly, 1 - 4pm - Batavia Players
Selections from past Youth Theatre shows OLIVER & HELLO DOLLY!; "teasers" of the upcoming YT production of WEST SIDE STORY; "Choices", a series of skits directed by Nicholas Burk; & more.

"Explore Art!" - look for the tent!
Hands-on activity for all ages..."Found Object" Sculpture Contest.
Bring yours or create one on-site with our guest artist.
Then enter to win either "Best of Category" or "People's Choice Award" in one of 5 categories: 10 & under, 11-17, adult, group/organization & those created on-site. "Found Object" Sculpture is the creation of pieces of art using somebody else's "junk", such as coffee cans, old instruments, leaves, boxes, etc. - be creative and start collecting!
