Web Site Resource to note! The New York State Performers & Programs Database serves all public libraries in New York State and is a statewide collaboration of all the public library systems in the state. The database brings together a substantial amount of performer and programming related information, which will support libraries' efforts to promote summer reading as well as ongoing literacy development in young people throughout the year. The resources, both educational and entertaining in nature, are also useful for programming needs outside the library. This database resource features programs primarily directed at youth or programs that help adults better serve youth.

Performers and program presenters are encouraged to sign up. You will be asked to enter contact information for your performance(s) and information about each of the programs that you offer to libraries.

Performers entering data into the Statewide Performer Database should note the following:

  • Performance content and format should be suitable for a library setting and should be appropriate for the age of the intended audience.
  • Performers should have prior experience performing in a library or school setting, or other appropriate venue.
  • Performers should not include programs that advance their own personal beliefs or doctrines.
  • As administrators of the database the regional coordinators reserve the right to exclude any performer or program from the directory if it does not meet the above criteria.
