GO ART! helps to promote arts
and cultural programming in Genesee and Orleans Counties through the production of a
quarterly calendar of cultural events (click here). In
addition, GO ART! presents ongoing gallery exhibits and demonstrations, youth activities,
arts and crafts shows, folk arts documentation and programs. We also actively participate
in community cultural planning, helping to create a tourist-based economy for the area by
presenting events in a wholesome environment for the family.

The GO ART! Salon Series Returns...

complete Salon brochure may be downloaded here The Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council is pleased to present its sixth series of “Salons” for 2008, all to be held at the GO ART! Cultural Center, 201 East Main Street (Route 5 @ Bank) in Batavia.
Tuesday, Feb. 12:

All GO ART! Salons include a themed light supper and beverages. Most entrees also include a salad/vegetable and dessert. Attendees are invited to bring their own wine along, and glasses will be provided. A contribution of $20 for non-members and $18 for GO ART! members is requested...or - members can join us for the series of FIVE and get the discounted rate of $75 or the series of THREE for $50. Artists’ and Art Collectors’ Collaborative Workshop SeriesA dual series of dynamic workshops bringing artists and arts collectors together to enrich and grow our vital arts community. Artists gain tips and techniques about marketing, promoting and sharing their work, while new art collectors discover art that appeals to them, the joy of original art, and how to start and grow their collection. Presented by Genesee Community College
President’s Innovation Award Grant ART COLLECTORS’ SERIESThe Tuesday workshops and the Saturday Artists Studio Tour are designed specifically for first-time collectors. Learn how to decide what art interests you, how other collectors got started, visit artists in their studios, learn about their art directly, meet gallery owners, and curators, and share your ideas with others interested in collecting art. Tuesdays: 7-9 PM
ARTISTS SERIESThe Wednesday evening workshop series and the Saturday Artists’ Studio Tour provides a broad overview of selling your art regionally, and exploring new markets and techniques used by artists today to promote and sell their work in the global marketplace. Topics range from the artist’s dream of having someone purchase everything you ever made, getting into new galleries, as well as creating your own opportunities for success. Learn how to conduct a studio tour for your new collectors. We will also make our own artists materials: grapevine charcoal, charcoal sticks, pastels, oil pastels, paper making and bamboo brushes. Wednesdays: 7-9 PM
Cost: $20 for either the entire
